Why Track Tag Changes?

Tags in Shopify are used for filtering, automation, segmentation, and fulfillment workflows. Without an audit trail, there’s no way to know who added or removed a tag, or when. Tag History fills that gap.

How It Works

Tag History monitors your orders, products, and customers through two methods:
  1. Webhooks — Shopify notifies the app whenever an entity is updated. The app compares the new tags to the previous state and records any changes.
  2. In-app editing — Use the Tag History block directly on an order, product, or customer page to add/remove tags with optional comments. Changes made this way also capture which user made them.
