Tag History Not Appearing

The extension block may be hidden in your Admin layout.
  1. Open an order, product, or customer page in Shopify Admin
  2. Click Customize (or the pencil icon) to edit the page layout
  3. Look for the Tag History block and make sure it’s set to visible
  4. Save the layout
If the block doesn’t appear in the list at all, try refreshing the page or reinstalling the app.
A few possible reasons:
  • Changes were made before installation — Tag History only records changes that occur after it’s installed
  • Tracking is disabled for that entity type — Check Settings to confirm orders/products/customers are enabled
  • Free limit reached — If you hit the 30-change monthly limit, new changes stop being recorded. Check the dashboard usage card.

User Attribution Issues

User attribution is only captured when tags are changed through the Tag History extension block. If your team is using Shopify’s native tag field, those changes will show as “Shopify Admin.”To get user attribution, instruct your team to use the Tag History block for tag edits.
Tag History uses the identity of the logged-in Shopify Admin user at the time the change is made. If a team member was logged in as someone else, the wrong name may appear. This is a Shopify session issue rather than an app bug.

Usage and Limits

Each tag addition or removal counts as one change. If tags are being added or removed in bulk (e.g., by automation, another app, or Shopify Flow), you can hit the 30-change limit quickly. Check your dashboard to see recent activity.Upgrade to Premium for unlimited tracking.
Usage resets at midnight UTC on the 1st of each month. If it’s past the 1st and your counter hasn’t reset, try refreshing the dashboard. If the issue persists, contact support.

Billing and Subscription

Try refreshing the page. If Premium features are still locked after a minute, try logging out of Shopify Admin and back in. If the issue persists, contact support with your store domain.
The upgrade flow opens a Shopify billing confirmation page. If nothing happens when you click Upgrade to Premium, try:
  • Disabling any popup blockers in your browser
  • Using a different browser
  • Logging out and back into Shopify Admin
If still not working, contact support.
Go to Settings and find the Your Plan section. If you’re on Premium, the Free plan card will show a Downgrade button.

CSV Export

CSV export is a Premium feature. Upgrade to Premium to unlock it.
This can happen if no tag changes have been recorded yet. Check the dashboard to confirm there is history. If history is visible but the export is empty, contact support.
